Pep Stores Long Service

The five staff members of Pep Stores in Aberdeen have an incredible 93 years of service between them!

At a glittering function at the Casino Queens Hotel in Queenstown last month, branch manager Esmé Finnis and assistant David de Jager received long service awards – David for 20 years service, and Esmé for an amazing 35 years.

Esmé started out as sales assistant in July 1976, in the Aberdeen branch, and she has worked there ever since, apart from a four month spell in Graaff-Reinet in 2003 as relief manager. In April 1995 she was appointed as branch manager for Aberdeen.

The most recently employed assistant, Connie, has been at the store for eight years, and the other two staff, Gladys and Annmaer, both started work at the store in 1996. The low turnover of staff is surely an indication that Esmé is a very well-respected and successful manager!
