PRIMARY SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Last Tuesday morning the three Aberdeen primary schools held a combined athletics meeting , which was postponed from the previous week because of the rain. Quite possibly many of the children participating would have preferred to run in the rain, as the chosen day proved to be hot and airless., however the participants ran their hearts out and a well- organized event saw many highly competitive races.

From this meeting, 77 boys and girls from the Aberdeen schools competed last Friday in Graaff-Reinet at the Camdeboo Primary Schools athletics meeting. The youngsters from Aberdeen performed very well, and fourteen have been selected for the Camdeboo team. The organizers would like to thank all the team managers for their hard work and reliability, and to congratulate the successful athletes and wish them the best of luck for their next competition.
