Mloza Soccer Tournament

Brazilians

Universal Kidz

Young Blues FC

Conquering Lions

Eleven Experience

Pystor FC

As good citizens of Aberdeen, we are always mindful of our obligation to the community we serve, not only by providing financial support but also ensuring that the support we provide makes a real difference to other peoples lives and forms part of a sustainable and promising future.
My friends and colleagues who also played or watched soccer games decided to give back to the community through sponsoring this annual tournament. There are 7 teams currently of which 4 are from Thembalesizwe and 3 from Lotusville.

Mission For 2009
We are appealing to all the business people to please assist us with any donations or help the organisers in any other way they deem fit. It is also a call to all the people of Aberdeen: please come on board as this is a great idea of giving back to the community. A humble appeal to the community; let’s keep these boys off the liquor/drugs and on the fields this December.

Tournament Background
* 1st Year: 2006 Tournament
In the first year we manage to raise R5000.00 which we used to buy prizes like soccer kits, trophies and medals. The prizes were distributed as follows:
1st prize: Soccer Kit, Trophy, Medals & Cash – Everton FC
2nd prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash – Pystor FC
3rd prize: Trophy and Medals - Universal Kidz

* 2nd Year: 2007 Tournament
In the second year of the tournament we thought we were going to have more people contributing to this good cause. Unfortunately we only managed to raise R3000.00 of which all went towards the prizes.
1st prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash – Pystor FC
2nd prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash – Everton FC
3rd prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash - Eleven Experience

* 3rd Year: 2008 Tournament
In the third year of the tournament we really struggled to get more donations/contributions and the people who donated before decided not to donate anymore. We had to make ends meet with what we had but, with the help of the organising committee, we managed to stage another successful tournament.
1st prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash – Young Blues FC
2nd prize: Trophy, Medals & Cash – Pystor FC
3rd prize: Medals & Cash - Conquering Lions

I would also like to say a big "THANK YOU" to all the people who previously donated money for this cause; without them this project wouldn’t have started - thanks again.
I would also like to encourage all the business people from Aberdeen to also give back to the community that enriches them. To all those people who want to be involved in this great project, my contact details are below.
