Christmas Lunch For Less Fortunate Children

Non-profit organization, "The Samaritan", hosted a first ever Christmas Lunch for over 50 less fortunate children from the townships in and around Aberdeen. The event took place on Sunday, 20 December 2009 in the Lotusville Community Hall. The Christmas lunch was the culmination a year of which healthy cooked meals were provided on a weekly basis to the children of Thembalesiwe, Hagenheim and Lotusville.
The Christmas lunch was attended by Councilor Jacobs, who was also the guest speaker at the event. Councilor Jacobs brought Christmas messages of hope and well wishes from Council, especially Mayor Jephta, to the children who attended the event. Cllr Jacobs commended “The Samaritan” as a community organization for their work they are doing in the communities of Aberdeen and pledged his support for projects envisaged by the organization in and around Aberdeen.

The Samaritan wishes to thank their members for their hard work during the year. They would also like to appeal to anyone who’s is interested in getting involved with the organization on a voluntary basis to please make contact with them (Mobile: 0742866652 Tel: 049-846-0893 Email: thesamaritan@webmail.co.za).
